1189 Stark Highway, Stark
Stark is a small town located in Coos County, northern New Hampshire? According to the census  done in 2010 population was 556 people. The small village of Stark includes two other villages Percy and Crystal. Stark is famous for their beautiful historic covered bridge located on the Upper Ammonoosuc River.
The name Stark was originally Percy, named after Hugh Percy, the first Duke of Northumberland. When the town was incorporated in 1810, it was renamed Stark after General John Stark.
The town of Stark has a unique history. During Word War II in 1944 a camp called the Civilian Conservation Corps was converted to Camp Stark and held approximately 250 German prisoners of war. It was the only POW camp in New Hampshire.
